Answer: 1. To prevent damages due to overloading, we connect an electric fuse in Household circuits. 2. When a fuse is connected, the entire current in house will flow through it. 3. The fuse consists of a thin wire with low melting point. 4. When the current in fuse is overloaded, the thin wire will heat up and melt. 5. Now the circuit becomes open and current flow stops in circuit. So all electrical devices are saved from damage due to overload.

What happens to the water when wet clothes dry? (or) How does the evaporation process takes place in clothes? Answer : Wet clothes dry due to evaporation of water. The water molecules in wet clothes absorbs heat from the outer surroundings. The molecules which are on the clothes surface gets more energy and evaporation takes place. However, some molecules after going into air, return back and settle on the clothes surface. When the number of escaping molecules are more than the number of returning molecules, wet clothes dry. When there is more wind, the molecules which are escaped does not return back to the surface. So, clothes dry faster when wind is blowing.

It occurs due to refraction of light. During hot days, air above the road surface is very hot and air at higher altitudes is cool. As the density of air increases with height, Refractive Index of air increases with density. The cooler air at the top has greater refractive index and the hotter air at the surface has low refractive index.
