Why do we use Fuses in Household Circuits?

Answer:

1. To prevent damages due to overloading, we connect an electric fuse in Household circuits.

2. When a fuse is connected, the entire current in house will flow through it.

3. The fuse consists of a thin wire with low melting point.

4. When the current in fuse is overloaded, the thin wire will heat up and melt.

5. Now the circuit becomes open and current flow stops in circuit. So all electrical devices are saved from damage due to overload.
